I’m all packed up and ready to go. Where, you ask? Camp NaNoWriMo! My note cards are assembled in chronological order and the bits and pieces of plot detail have been painstakingly gathered into one nearly concise notebook. I would be chomping at the bit to get started now if I weren’t so wiped out!
Yesterday’s outpatient surgery has me feeling sore and achy in unexpected places (I’m guessing a breathing tube must have been shoved down my sore throat). Today is all about rest, rejuvenation (oh, and a birthday party), so come Monday, I’m revved up and ready to write.
It’s also a bit of a sad day, for The Night Circus is coming to a close. Definitely one of those books I’m dragging out through the final pages…it’s just that good. In honor of Camp NaNoWriMo, and with gratitude to Erin Morgenstern, I leave you with this non-spoiler of a quote from the book:
“You may tell a tale that takes up residence in someone’s soul, becomes their blood and self and purpose. That tale will move them and drive them and who knows what they might do because of it, because of your words. That is your role, your gift.” ~Erin Morgenstern, The Night Circus
It certainly is a gift the author wielded with great precision, and one that is sure to light my way during the long days (and nights) of Camp.
